“Every night we had hot chocolate and a story; at home I just go to bed”

What does childhood mean to you? Simple things we take for granted – being loved and cared for, having fun, feeling safe?  Loving families, happy memories and good experiences that helped us grow into the the people we are today.

But for some of Sheffield’s children things are very different. For them, childhood is about neglect, fear, hunger, poverty. It’s about not going out, and not fitting in.

Our 480 Club members support the city’s most needy and vulnerable children, enabling them to stay on the farm and gain respite from what’s going on at home. Whirlow delivers activities that kids just love!

“I loved sleeping in the bunk beds and being able to chat”

“I loved the yummy dinners and being together”

“I don’t want to go home – I like it too much”

We work with schools in the most deprived areas of Sheffield, providing a fun and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

480 The therapeutic benefits of being outdoors and working with animals sets the scene for building strong relationships with teachers and peers as they all live together in our farmhouse. Each £480 donation supports one school visit. We have a waiting list of local schools desperate to visit the farm but are unable to do so without 480 Club  support
