In June 2009 Whirlow Hall Farm (WHF) Trust entered its 30th year. The charity provides subsidised educational day and residential visits for children of all ages. To enable more children to benefit from visiting the farm in the future, WHF Trust is asking school children to fundraise, either:
‘Fill a Wellie’ at school
Fundraising to ‘Fill a Wellie’ at school can be launched by showing the PowerPoint presentation about the farm. This is suitable for children to view in the classroom or assembly. ‘Fill a Wellie’ PowerPoint Presentation.
Then:
- Give each child a ‘Fill a Wellie’ envelope. Once they have written their name on their envelope the children can colour them.
- Ask the children to take their envelope home and collect small amounts of money from their family for helping at home.
- Tell the children when to return their envelopes to school — possibly allowing two weeks for the fundraising.
- Use all the money collected by the children to ‘Fill a Wellie’, or maybe even two or three wellies! It doesn’t matter if the wellie is old or new, large or small, green or spotty.
The money raised can either be:
- counted in school and a cheque payable to Whirlow Hall Farm Trust sent to us, or
- we can arrange for it to be collected from school.
Or
‘Fill a Wellie’ at home
Pick-up an envelope from the Farm Shop, collect money from your family for helping at home, then return your envelope to the Farm Shop.
A large Wellieometer in the farm yard will record the funds raised showing a running total until the end of June 2010.
The ‘Fill a Wellie’ presentation will give you more information.
Each child who participates will receive a ‘Fill a Wellie’ button badge.
We hope that you enjoy the challenge to ‘FILL A WELLIE’
