Skydiving 15,000 feet
Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 15,000 feet – the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go – falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph! Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens and you begin a tranquil parachute descent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below. Stop imagining, it’s real and you can be part of it…
As part of Whirlow’s annual sky diving event, you could experience all of this for FREE whilst raising money for Whirlow!
Every year we host a Tandem Skydiving event, which sees our staff, volunteers and supporters jump from up to 15,000 feet (6,000 feet of which is a free-fall) whilst harnessed to a professional parachute instructor. We encourage our skydivers to raise as much money as they can for the Trust, which goes a long way towards helping us to continue our valuable work. In return for your bravery and hard work, you’ll get to experience a thrilling once in a lifetime opportunity, as this type of tandem skydiving is the only way that you can jump from such an altitude without spending thousands of pounds becoming a free-fall parachutist!
We were overjoyed to receive over £4000 from last year’s skydive, which went directly to supporting the work we do here, with some of the most needy and vulnerable children in Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Why not challenge yourself and your friends to a Whirlow charity skydive? If you’re looking for an exhilarating way to raise money for a worthwhile local charity, contact our fundraising office on 0114 2352678 or email email@example.com and we’ll be happy to discuss it and support you.
