What the children are saying......
Sometimes, it's the children we help who are best able to sum up the importance of what we do.
' I love staying at whirlow - I don't have to go to sleep in my school uniform here.'
But what this 7 year old girl didn't say is that whilst she was here she didn't have to get up on her own, make her own breakfast (or go hungry), and get herself off to school each morning. And in the evening, she got to sit at a table and have a meal with her classmates before having a hot shower and getting changed into her pyjamas. Those things shouldn't have to count as treats.
Some kids don't have the care and support that most of us were lucky enough to take for granted.
