Whirlow receives £25,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation
We are thrilled to have received a £25,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation!
The Foundation, founded by the Weston Family, funds a range of causes from small community groups, to large national institutions. They donate £80 million annually and since it was established in 1958, they have donated over £1billion! The Foundation’s aim is to support organisations that have effective solutions to helping those most in need. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Guy Weston, was awarded a Knighthood for services to charity in the New Year Honours list 2021. The honour recognises the tireless effort, expertise and advice Guy has devoted both to the Foundation and the charities it has supported during his 20-year Chairmanship and 35- year role as Trustee.
This grant will support Whirlow to ensure we can continue to provide our vital education services for vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in Sheffield. With so many of our income generating activities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, this grant provides a lifeline at an extremely difficult time.
We would like to thank everyone at the Garfield Weston Foundation for their support.
