A Whirlow Hall Farm proposal story

It’s not every day our farm becomes the backdrop for someone’s proposal, but this is exactly what happened this August when Francis asked the farm team to help ask his girlfriend to marry him. Francis and Femke from London had booked one of the farm’s deluxe Highland Cow tours where they had a chance to meet and interact with the cows up close; feeding and stroking them and taking photos. Francis then took this opportunity to pop the question to Femke. She said yes!

As Francis had contacted the farm in advance, Whirlow’s wedding planner, Meg, was in the know about the plans and was able to arrange some surprise fizz in our vineyard to celebrate the special moment, which was all captured by photographer Paul from Peak Highland Cow Experience. 

Francis and Femke chose to come from London to Whirlow because they were able to book a private experience. Visitors have travelled from all over the UK for our experiences and we even have some future bookings from Finland and the US!

We are delighted for the newly engaged couple and can’t wait to see what their wedding plans include. It won’t be a Whirlow wedding as the couple plan to hold their celebrations closer to family and friends.
