We've had horses for years - now we've got a Sheriff!

30.8.2017

We're thrilled that the new High Sheriff of South Yorkshire, Stephen Ingram, has chosen us as his Charity of the Year!

No, it's not Gunfight at the Whirlow Corall, or that nasty man from Nottingham.  Stephen Ingram is South Yorkshire's latest High Sheriff -the Queen's representative for the region and a tradition that dates back to before the Norman Conquest. The modern day High Sheriff has a very different role and function to that of his ancient ancestors, but none the less plays an important role in our 21st century society.

Stephen has chosen Whirlow Hall Farm Trust as his nominated Charity of the Year because of the inclusive nature of what we do.  He recognises that exclusion and isolation can be devestating for individuals and communities and so wants to do what he can to address the problem

Stephen said' The work that Whirlow Hall Farm Trust does with excluded children, and those that face other challenges, really struck a chord with me.  They're trying to help every child that visits them so that they can make the most of their potential - and make a positive contribution to our wonderful region.  I'm delighted to give them my support.'

Look out for Stephen at events at the Farm and around the City.  No, he's not the one wearing the cowboy boots.....
