Many hands make light work - thanks CMS!

17.5.2022

It was great to host a wonderful group from CMS up at the farm last week - and we're so grateful that they gave the inside of our Lambing Barn a lick of paint in readiness for the Wedding season. It looks fantastic!

32 members of staff from international law firm CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang came up to the farm last week and spent an afternoon in the glorious edge-of-sheffield countryside.

The afternoon started with an introduction to the Trust's charitable work with youngsters from across the city region.  Then, following self-led training sessions in the Barn cafe, the group headed off to the Lambing Barn to help with the work needed to prepare it for it's summer use as a popular wedding venue; it's a critical fund-raising activity that enables the Trust's charitable work.

A couple of hours and a whole lot of paint later the place had been transformed!  It looks terrific - unrecognisable from a month ago - and was really well received at the Wedding Fair last weekend.

But it wasn't all nose-to-the-paintbrush.  The volunteers also got the chance to take a tour of the Farm to learn about our native breeds of sheep, cattle and pigs.  Then it was back to the Barn cafe for a barbeque to round off the day.

CMS team member Liz commented ' It was a very informative introduction about the work of the trust as I know that many of us know WHF for the animals and cafe but hadn’t appreciated the extent of the outreach you have to the community. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of the previous inhabitants of the barn during a tour of the farm. Some of the ewes and lambs were very friendly!  Thanks again for hosting us.'

It was a pleasure - and we owe you a massive thank you for all your hard work.  We'd love to see you back up at the Farm soon - either visiting us with family and friends at weekends or en-masse next spring, paint brushes at the ready!!
