Whirlow receives further National Lottery Funding
9.3.2021
We are delighted to have been awarded a further £10,000 funding from The National Lottery Awards For All programme.
The Awards For All programme provides up to £10,000 of funding for projects which make a difference in their community and is part of a range of funding programmes from the National Lottery. It is thanks to the National Lottery players that they are able to provide this funding and give out more than £500 million to charities, community and voluntary groups each year.
In August last year we were awarded £10,000 to support the Whirlow LIFE programmes through the peak of the pandemic from the National Lottery COVID emergency funds and we were thrilled to receive a further award in February.
The funding will support our Whirlow LIFE (Learning In a Farming Environment) programmes. Whirlow LIFE supports vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people through educational activities on our working farm. The youngsters get involved in all aspects of farm work from egg collecting to helping with lambing. We support these children and young people to develop the emotional and social skills to cope with the pressures they face. Our goal is always to help them get back to school so they can enjoy their childhoods like other children. Older children have the opportunity to complete qualifications, opening doors to apprenticeships or college placements. Our programmes can be life-changing.
Thank you to all the National Lottery players for their support!
