Did you know we have the remains of a Romano-British settlement right here on the farm?
We have made an exciting discovery at Whirlow - the remains of a Romano-British settlement! Time travel with your class to this period and discover 'real' history with the story of the Romans on our site. Investigate life on a frontier farm through engaging practical activities developing historical skills in this two-part day of curriculum-linked living history.
Find out why the Romans came to Whirlow and the impact on British farmers. Visit our archaeological site and the farm - discover which animals the Romans farmed and why. If you would like a visit from historical figure 'Cartemandua' just let us know! In part two of the day become a Roman in our costumed living history session in our 'roundhouse'.
