Sheffield Soroptimists enjoy afternoon tea with the Lord Mayor

On Thursday 11th May, The Sheffield branch of women’s organisation Soroptimist International, accompanied by Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor Denise Fox, presented a cheque for £4711 to Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.

Our Chief Executive Ben Davies received the donation and, on behalf of all of the youngsters who benefit from the Trust’s work, extended sincere thanks to the ladies for all their hard work. The ladies enjoyed a farm tour and afternoon tea in our wonderful Cruck Barn Cafe.

As a charity we rely heavily on donations and we’re hoping for more support like this from local groups in the future. The Soroptimist ladies have raised funds through a variety of events, including a barbeque at the Farm, a fashion show at Chi Chi’s Boutique in Dronfield, coffee mornings and a fashion evening with Lucido Boutique at the Lescar Pub, both on Sharrowvale Road in Sheffield.
