Community groups visit the farm

We are always keen to welcome visitors to the farm
Sheffield Environmental Movement (SEM) have recently been up to visit us with some of Sheffield’s community groups - ROSHNI Men and ROSHNI Women, SADACCA Women and ASHIANA Women.
Our great volunteer guides told the groups about the history of the farm, the range of farm activities and the work of the Trust to help disadvantaged children and young people. The groups thoroughly enjoyed the visits to the farm and described it as ‘a whole new experience’, with some of the ROSHNI Men saying they have been in Sheffield for over 60 years but had never been up to the farm before. They particularly enjoyed comparing the farm animal breeds and farming methods to those from their respective countries of origin. As a result of their visit all the groups were keen on learning about how to grow food in their home gardens and were now hoping to acquire allotments to grow plants as a group.
